You may be wondering, as a non-Muslim person, why should Ramadan matter to me?

As an institution that has made a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, it’s important to understand Ramadan, how it impacts your students and co-workers, and how to support them during this time.

As Wake Forest continues to invest in increasing our diversity, we also need to prioritize creating space for our Muslim community, as well as other under-resourced communities, and that we establish norms of institutional support.

Ramadan should matter to you if you care about contributing to a supportive and and culturally-competent environment for your Muslim students, peers, and colleagues during the holiest month of the Islamic calendar.
